Preservation of Old Time Music
We
are a non profit organization dedicated to preserving musical forms and
techniques that are rapidly disappearing with the current generation. We sponsor concerts, dances, and workshops. Any help you can provide in publicizing our
events will be greatly appreciated.

On Saturday night, November
16, there will be a concert of old-time music held at the Sandwich Opera House
in Sandwich, Illinois. The doors open
at 6:30pm and the music is from 7:00 until 9:30pm. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.
The headline performer is
Diane Ippel. She has been called the
Midwest's finest hammer dulcimer player.
Her material ranges from the very old folk/traditional tunes and
songs, to modern arrangements of
classic pieces. She is the founder and
current coordinator of the Gebhard Woods Dulcimer Festival now in its 16th
year.
Ellen and John Wright are
Northwestern University professors who play and sing folk music. He plays the clawhammer bamjo and she
accompanies him on the guitar. Opening
the show will be renowned folksinger Anna Stange. She has performed throughout the country and is especially well
known for her renditions of songs for children.
The master of ceremonies for the show will be former grammy nominee, traditional ballad singer Acie Cargill. For more information, please call the Opera House at (815)786-2555.
